Beach Accessibility

Accessing beaches if you are a wheelchair user can be extremely difficult, as it can be a struggle to move the wheelchair across the sand.

Beach resorts are beginning to address this problem, and many resorts now have improved access, slopes, and beach wheelchairs. They can often be hired by the hour for a small fee. You can usually find out if the resort where you are has a wheelchair-accessible beach by visiting Tourist Information. They will also be able to tell you whether a beach-accessible wheelchair can be hired.
