Fire Assessment in the Home

Home Safety

You can contact your local fire station to request an assessment of your home to ensure you have the appropriate smoke detectors. If you have someone in your home who is visually or hearing impaired, there are various types of smoke detectors that can be installed accordingly.

Additionally, you will be placed on a priority list so that in the event of an emergency, the fire service is already aware of the presence of an individual with a disability in your home. This allows them to be fully prepared and informed of your situation. The location of the individual’s bedroom and any equipment presenting a fire risk, such as home oxygen, will be documented.

The fire service can also advise on safe evacuation protocols in case of an emergency.
