Intensive Interaction

Communication Support

Intensive interaction is a method that can assist individuals in the early stages of communication development. This method can be applied to support those with autism and individuals with severe, profound, or complex learning difficulties. It can also be used if someone is reluctant or disinterested in interacting with others.

Techniques such as turn-taking, mirroring, rhythm and repetition, and sharing personal space can facilitate communication exchanges initiated and led by the individual, thereby promoting positive interactions.
